Rest Inn

Being on Brigade Road means things are always moving. Our place, Rest Inn, is tucked away near Rest House Road at number 26. It is a busy corner of the city and there is always something happening right outside the front door. We spend a lot of time checking people in and showing them where they can leave their bags. The building has been here for a while and it has that lived-in feeling that you don't get with the newer places. We don't have a giant staff or anything like that. It is just a few of us making sure the rooms are ready and the hallways are swept. People come from all over to stay here because they want to be close to the shops and the restaurants on Brigade Road. We hear the traffic and the music from the street until late at night. Sometimes the guests want to know where to get a good meal or where the nearest bus stop is. We just tell them what we know from living here. It isn't a luxury setup with gold handles on the doors. It is a basic place to stay when you are in town for work or just visiting. We keep the keys behind the desk and try to make sure everything works like it should. It is a simple way to run a business and we like the rhythm of the travelers coming and going.
