Hotel Aristo Lodge

Cottonpet is a very crowded area, and that’s where we are. We are right near Sangam Travels, so it’s easy to find us if you’re coming by bus. Hotel Aristo Lodge isn't one of those glass buildings you see in the new parts of the city. It’s an old-fashioned lodge. We have a lot of people who come for the cloth markets nearby. They bring big bags and need a place to stay that is close to the shops. My uncle used to run this place and now I do. It’s a lot of walking up and down the hallways. We have rooms with fans and some with just windows. The street noise starts early in the morning when the shops open up. You can hear the carts and the people shouting. It’s a lively place to be. We don't provide meals, but there are a hundred places to eat within a two-minute walk. We just focus on keeping the beds made and the bathrooms working. Sometimes the plumbing acts up because the pipes are old, but we fix it pretty quick. It’s not a place for a holiday, really. It’s a place for people who have business in the market and need a room that doesn't cost too much. We’ve been here a long time and we know most of the shopkeepers on this street. We try to keep the front steps clean, but with so many people passing by, it’s a constant job.
