Our office is over at 612 Avenue Road. It’s a busy part of town and finding parking nearby is always a bit of a headache. This isn't where you come to stay in a room; it’s more for the administrative side of things for the hotel business. We have a few desks and some old filing cabinets that have been here since we moved in. The building is older, so the walls have some marks on them and the floor creaks in certain spots. We spend most of our day on the phone or looking at the computer. It gets pretty hot in the afternoons when the sun hits the front window. We have a small kettle in the corner for making coffee or tea. Usually, there are three of us working here. We handle the bookings and the accounts for the business. It’s not very glamorous work but it keeps things moving. Sometimes the internet goes slow and we just have to wait it out. People often get lost and walk in here asking for directions to the shops down the street. We don’t mind helping. It’s just part of being on Avenue Road. We close up around six and head home like everyone else. It’s a straightforward office for a private limited company. No big lobby or fancy carpets here. Just a place where we sit and get the paperwork done so the hotels can run properly. It stays pretty dusty.
