Rathna Beauty Parlour & Fancy Gold Covering

Our shop is situated on Palani Mudliar Street in the Ulsoor area of Bangalore. I decided to run two things out of this single space—Rathna Beauty Parlour and a small section for fancy gold covering jewelry. It might seem like an unusual combination, but it works well for the women who live around here. They often come in to get their hair trimmed or a quick facial, and while they wait, they look at the jewelry pieces I have in the glass cases. Most of the items are pieces you can wear to a wedding or a temple visit when you do not want to carry real gold. The parlour side is very simple. I have one main chair and the basic supplies. I do threading, waxing, and simple hair cuts. It is mostly just me working here every day. I have lived in Ulsoor for many years, so I know most of the people who walk past. Neighbors often stop by just to say hello even if they do not need any service. The gold covering items are quite popular because they look nice but are affordable. I try to pick out designs that local people will actually like. The shop is not big, but I keep everything organized. I do not spend money on big advertisements. Most people find out about me because a friend or a sister told them. It is a small, honest business.
