S. H. I. Nandhini Export Garments

You can find us at #225 on the 3rd Main Road, right at the 5th Cross in Ramachandrapuram. It’s a corner of the city that stays active from morning till night. We do export garments here, which means a lot of checking labels and packing things into large crates. The building has seen better days, but it’s sturdy and keeps the rain out. We have several rows of sewing machines and long tables for folding the finished clothes. The street outside can get pretty cramped when the delivery vans arrive to pick up or drop off materials. We’ve gotten used to maneuvering the heavy boxes through the narrow doorways. Ramachandrapuram is a place where everyone seems to be making something or selling something. There’s a constant hum of activity from the surrounding shops and workshops. Inside, we mostly stick to our own tasks. It’s a lot of manual work, looking at fabric and making sure the measurements are okay. Sometimes we stay late when there’s a big shipment going out the next morning. We drink a lot of tea to keep going through the afternoon slump. It’s not a glamorous job, just a lot of steady effort in a busy part of town. We’ve been here at this cross for a long time now and most of the locals know our faces. We just keep doing what we do every day.
