Raj Hotel Cubbonpet

Our place, Raj Hotel Cubbonpet, is at number 122 on the Cubbonpet Main Road, right near the post office. It’s just off Avenue Road, which everyone knows is one of the busiest and oldest parts of Bangalore. The streets around here are very narrow and always filled with people, carts, and delivery bikes. Our building is tucked right into this maze of shops. It’s an old-fashioned sort of place, nothing like the big glass hotels you see in the newer parts of the city like Indiranagar or Whitefield. We have simple rooms and a small staff that keeps things running day to day. A lot of our day is spent talking to guests who are in town for the wholesale markets or visiting the nearby government offices. We don’t have an elevator, so there is a lot of walking up and down the stairs for us and the guests. The walls are thick and the rooms stay relatively cool, but you can always hear the muffled sounds of the market outside. We try to keep the place clean, though the old floors have some stains that just won't come out anymore no matter how much we scrub. It’s a place with a lot of history and we’ve seen many people come and go over the years. We don't offer much more than a bed and a bit of quiet, but for most people, that’s exactly what they need.
