Rachmeri Granites

Rachmeri Granites is located at 1196 Rajajinagar on Shivaji Road, right inside the Kohinoor Industrial Estate. To be completely honest, it is a very dusty business to be in. Granite is a beautiful material once it is finished, but cutting and polishing it makes a huge mess every day. We have large slabs of stone leaning against the walls and the smell of wet rock is always in the air. We have been here at the Kohinoor estate for a long time now. It is a good spot for us because people can actually come in and see the natural patterns in the stone before they decide to buy anything. Every single piece of rock is a bit different, so we spend a lot of our time showing folks the various veins and colors in the light. We do not have one of those high-end showrooms with bright spotlights and fancy brochures. It is just an industrial unit where we do the heavy lifting and the dirty work. Moving these heavy slabs takes a lot of care and a bit of luck so they do not crack. We use a lot of water for the saws to keep the dust down, so the floor is usually a bit damp. It is not a glamorous job, but there is something satisfying about seeing a raw piece of rock turn into a kitchen counter for someone's home.
