Protech Systems

Being located in Peenya Industrial Area 427 means we are surrounded by a lot of factories and smoke. Protech Systems is tucked away in a corner of the block. We mostly work on systems and hardware parts throughout the day. The workbench is usually covered in wires and tools that we haven't put away yet. It’s a bit messy but we know where everything is. The fans overhead make a clicking sound that we’ve just gotten used to over the years. We spend hours looking at small components and trying to figure out why things aren't starting up. It’s quiet work mostly, interrupted by the sound of trucks passing by on the main road. We keep a few spare parts in the metal cupboards against the wall. Sometimes the power goes out in this area and we have to wait for it to come back before we can test anything. We eat our lunch out of steel boxes while sitting on the stools. It isn't a place for meetings or anything like that. It’s just a workshop where we get things done. The walls could use a fresh coat of paint but nobody really looks at them. We are just focused on the boards and the machines in front of us until it's time to lock up and head home for the night. We get a lot of dust from the other factories nearby, so we have to keep the sensitive parts covered with plastic sheets.
