If you ever find yourself walking through the National Games Village area in Sampangiram Nagar, you might pass our spot at 13/1. It’s a busy location for distribution because there’s always something moving in or out. We have a lot of boxes coming through the doors every day, and the floor is usually marked up from the dollies we use to shift things around. It’s not exactly a quiet office environment; there’s always someone shouting out a number or checking a manifest against a pile of goods. We have a small corner where we keep the computer and the ledgers, but the rest of the space is pretty much dedicated to storage and movement. The rain can be a real pain here because we have to move everything back from the doorway quickly so nothing gets damp. We’ve got a couple of delivery bikes parked out front most of the time. The people who work here have been around the block a few times, so they know how to handle the rush when a big shipment arrives unexpectedly. Lunch is usually a quick affair, sometimes just something brought from home eaten while sitting on a sturdy crate. It’s a bit chaotic, but we have a system that works for us, even if it looks like a mess to someone just walking in from the street. We just focus on getting things where they need to go and call it a day when the light starts to fade into the evening.
