Pavan Battery Works(SRI SAMUNDESHWARI INDUSTRIES)

We operate out of Viswaneedam, at 1/115. Some of the older locals still call it Old No-46/5. We go by Pavan Battery Works, though the official name is Sri Samundeshwari Industries. It’s a bit of a mouthful, so we just stick to batteries mostly. Our shop is full of heavy lead-acid batteries and chargers. There is always that distinct smell of chemicals and metal in the air here. We spend our time testing cells and refilling water. It’s a messy job, and our clothes usually end up with little holes from the acid over time. We’ve been in this building for years. The walls could use a fresh coat of paint, but we’re too busy to get around to it. People come to us when their trucks or cars won't start, or when they need power for their shops. We don't have a shiny storefront. It’s just a workshop with a lot of heavy lifting. My son helps me out most days. We talk to the customers about how to keep their batteries lasting longer, just plain talk. We don't use any big sales pitches. Viswaneedam is a quiet enough area compared to the city center, which we like. We just keep our heads down and work on the units. If the lights are on, we’re probably inside working on a rebuild or a charge. It’s what we know how to do best. We've been at 1/115 for years now and we're not moving.
