Patels Inn

Patels Inn is situated at 38/2/2 Jm Road in Rabrindranath Tagore Nagar. We have been part of this neighborhood for quite a while now. The address is a bit specific with all the numbers but people find us eventually if they look. We spend a lot of time maintaining the grounds and the building itself. It’s a bit larger than your average shop so there is always something to fix, paint, or clean. In RT Nagar, things move at their own pace. We start the day by walking around the property to make sure everything is in order for whoever is visiting. We don’t use any marketing tricks to get people in. Most of our visitors come because they saw the sign on Jm Road or they live nearby and know us. The lobby has a few old chairs and some plants that we try to keep alive. It’s a practical place to stay or visit for a while. We don’t have a corporate office telling us what to do every minute. We just handle the check-ins and the cleaning as they come. Sometimes the phones ring off the hook and other times it’s dead quiet for hours. We just take it as it comes. The staff is local and we mostly just talk about the weather or the traffic while we work. It’s a simple operation at 38/2/2. We keep the gates open and the lights on for whoever needs us. It’s a steady life.
