We’ve been operating the spinning mill at 746/10 in Hanumanth Nagar for many years. It’s tucked away near the 5th Main and 7th Cross. The sound of the machinery is something you get used to after a while, though it’s quite loud for anyone just visiting. We deal with a lot of yarn and thread every single day. The air inside always has these tiny bits of fluff floating around, so we’re constantly cleaning the vents. It’s a lot of work to keep everything running smooth. We have a small crew of people who have been with us since the start. They know the machines better than I do. Hanumanth Nagar is a quiet residential area mostly, so we try not to be too disruptive, but a mill is a mill. We started small and just kept at it. There are days when the machines break down and we’re all hands on deck trying to fix them. It’s not a glamorous job. Your hands get rough and your clothes are always covered in lint. We sell to different places, but we don’t have a big sales team or anything. Mostly just people who know what we produce and come to us directly. It’s been our life for a long time. We just keep the spindles turning and hope for a good season. It’s just how we do things here in our corner of the neighborhood. The work is hard but it is steady.
