Padamavati Enterprises

Chickpet is always a mess with the traffic and the narrow lanes, and our place, Padamavati Enterprises, is right there on Uttarad Mutt Lane. If you know the area, you know how hard it is to even walk sometimes when the delivery carts are moving through. We’ve been at 35/1 for a long time now. The shop is small and it's packed from floor to ceiling with stock. It’s mostly just us handling the day-to-day stuff, taking orders and making sure the right things go out. The Mutt is nearby, so we hear the bells and the people going for prayers while we are busy counting items. It gets very hot in the afternoons, and the fan doesn't do much, but that’s just how it is in this part of town. We spend a lot of time on the phone talking to suppliers or just sitting on the stool waiting for the next person to walk in. There’s no big sign or anything, just the usual boards you see everywhere in Chickpet. Dealing with the wholesale side of things means we move a lot of boxes, and sometimes the labels get mixed up, but we sort it out eventually. It’s a bit cramped inside with all the ledgers and the old furniture, but it works for us. We just keep things simple and try to get the work done before the evening rush starts and the lane becomes impossible to move in. It's been like this for years now and we are used to it.
