P Balasubramanyam

My place is at 22 Gokula on Race Course Road. It’s an old building, and the address is pretty easy to find if you’re near the track. I’ve been working from here for quite a while now. The room is filled with books and old files that I probably should have cleared out years ago. It’s just me, P Balasubramanyam, doing the work. Usually, the day starts with a walk around the area before the sun gets too hot. Race Course Road is a busy spot, so there’s always the sound of cars and people rushing past. Inside, it’s a bit quieter. I don't have a receptionist or anyone answering the phones, so if I’m busy, the bell just rings. People come to me for various things they need help with, mostly professional advice or paperwork. I don't believe in making things look more impressive than they are. The desk is cluttered, and the fan makes a bit of a clicking noise, but it works. I’ve seen the neighborhood change quite a bit over the years, but this office stays pretty much the same. Most of the people who come in are regulars or folks who heard about me from a friend. I like the independence of working for myself. It’s a simple setup, nothing fancy, just a man and his work in a familiar part of town. I keep regular hours and try to keep things moving.
