One World

One World is located at number 87 on Basavanagar Main Road. It is a straightforward place right on the street level. We open the doors early because the morning walkers are already out and about by then. The shop isn't very large, but we try to keep everything in its place so it doesn't look like a mess to anyone walking in. Being on the main road means there is always a lot of noise from the horns and the people passing by. We have a small wooden bench inside where people can sit if they are waiting for something. The floor gets swept a couple of times a day because the dust from the street comes right in through the entrance. We know most of the people who live in the apartments nearby. They stop in just to say hello or ask about something they saw in the window. We don't use any big computers or complicated systems here. It is mostly just a ledger and some pens on the counter. The overhead lights are a bit bright, but they help when it gets cloudy outside. We have a small back room where we keep some extra stock and a kettle for making tea. The sign outside has been there for years and the paint is starting to peel a little at the edges. It is a simple operation and we like it that way. We stay open until the shops around us start closing their shutters for the night.
