We’ve been here at No.325 in Ombr Layout for a while now. Most days it’s just the sound of sewing machines and the smell of heavy fabric. Denim India is where we spend most of our daylight hours. It’s not a fancy place, just a workspace where we get things done. You’ll find us on 2nd A Cross, usually busy with a new batch of orders. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit outside for a bit until it comes back. We handle a lot of fabric here. Blue dye gets on everything, even the tea cups. The neighborhood has changed a lot since we moved in, but our routine stays pretty much the same. We start early when the air is still cool. My cousin helps out with the cutting, and we have a few others who know the machines inside out. It’s hard work, especially when the deadlines are tight, but we like the rhythm of it. If you walk past, you’ll see stacks of cloth waiting to be turned into something wearable. We don't have a big sign or anything, just the address. People know where to find us when they need something sturdy. It’s just how we make a living. No big story, just lots of thread and heavy needles every single day of the week. We’ve grown used to the dust and the constant noise. It is home.
