Om Marbles & Granites

Down here at 114 Dodda Banaswadi, a lot of heavy stone passes through our hands. The yard is full of marble slabs and granite blocks leaned up against each other. Lifting and moving things around with the crane is how the day goes. Ground gets a bit muddy when it rains, but that’s just part of it. Most of our time is spent showing people the different patterns in the stone. Since no two pieces ever look the same, it stays interesting. Sometimes a slab has a crack we didn't see at first, so we have to move things around to find a better one. Dust gets all over our clothes by the end of the shift. The shop isn't much to look at, just a place to store the inventory and talk to customers who are building or fixing up their places. Dodda Banaswadi has been our location for quite some time now. Neighbors know us as the stone yard. Hard work is what this is, and the sun gets pretty hot out in the open yard during the afternoons. Keeping things organized helps us not lose track of what’s in stock. My nephew helps me with the loading when he isn't at school. We aren't trying to be fancy here. Selling stone and making sure the measurements are mostly right is what we do. It’s a simple business of moving heavy things from here to there.
