Our place is located at 34, 2nd Cross in Bangalore. It’s a busy area, but once you get inside the building, things quiet down a bit. We spend our days looking after the guests and making sure the rooms are in good shape. It’s a lot of checking lists and walking up and down the halls. The staff here wears uniforms, but we aren't formal in a stiff way. We just want to make sure people have a place to stay that isn't messy. The lobby usually has a few people waiting around, and there’s always a phone ringing somewhere. We deal with all sorts of things, from fixing a light bulb to helping someone find a taxi in the Bangalore traffic. It can be a bit repetitive, but the people we meet make it interesting. We don't have any grand philosophy; we just do the work that needs doing. The 2nd Cross road can be a bit tight with parked cars, so getting in and out takes some patience. We usually have our staff meals in the back where it’s quiet. Most of us have lived in Bangalore for years, so we’re used to the pace of the city. We don't try to be something we're not. It’s just a well-kept building where we work hard to keep everything running smoothly for whoever stays with us. It's a lot of coordination but we get it done.
