Nirmal Granite & Marble

Nirmal Granite & Marble is out at Sy No-24 in Harapnahalli Village. We are right opposite the Classic Layout in Jigni. If you’ve ever been to Jigni, you know it’s where all the stone work happens. Our yard is big and open. We have huge blocks of marble and granite stacked up everywhere. It’s a very dusty environment. No matter how much you clean, the white dust from the cutting and moving stays on everything. The sun is usually quite sharp out here. We don't have a fancy air-conditioned office. We mostly stay outside or under the tin sheds. The trucks come in through the main gate all day long. Loading them up takes a lot of time and care. We have a couple of heavy machines to help with the lifting, but it’s still a lot of physical labor. You can hear the sound of the saws cutting through stone from a distance. It’s a constant hum. We’ve been at this spot for a long time. People living in the Classic Layout across the way probably know us by the noise. We just focus on getting the slabs ready. It is a tough job and your back usually hurts by the end of the shift. But we like the work. It’s straightforward. You take a piece of rock and you get it ready for someone’s house. It is just what we do every day at Sy No-24.
