You can find Nilkanth Hardware at Shop No. 4, Survey No. 492, in Kalkere Village. We are right on the Rammoorthy Nagar Main Road, which has become much busier than it used to be when we first started out. Banaswadi is just a stone's throw away, so we get people coming in from all those nearby spots. My shop is full of all the little things you need for a house—screws, hammers, hinges, and all that. I have rows of plastic bins filled with different sizes of bolts, and I’m probably the only one who knows where everything is kept. It’s a bit of a maze in here, to be honest. Customers come in with a broken part and ask if I have something that matches, and usually, I can find it after digging around for a bit. The main road is always noisy with traffic, and sometimes it’s hard to hear what people are asking for over the sound of the bikes. I like being in Kalkere Village because it still feels a bit like a small community even though everything around us is developing so fast. We keep the shop open pretty late because that’s when most people realize they need a tool for a project they’re doing at home. It is not a huge business, but it keeps me busy and I enjoy talking to the regulars who have been coming here for years.
