National Centre For Biological Sciences

We are situated in the Gkvk C Wing. The National Centre For Biological Sciences is a place where there are always people in white coats or carrying some kind of equipment. The campus here at Gkvk is actually quite green and nice, which is a break from the usual city noise and heat. Most of the time, we are inside the C Wing, where the labs and offices are located. It’s a lot of walking down long corridors and looking at samples or data. It’s not the kind of place that has a big reception desk with a bowl of mints for guests. It’s more about the work being done in the rooms. There’s a lot of silence sometimes, followed by the hum of some machine or another in the background. We eat our lunch in the common areas and talk about what we’re doing that day. It’s a bit of a maze if you aren’t used to the layout of the building. We have a lot of books and scientific journals piled up in various corners. Some of the equipment is quite old but still works perfectly fine for our needs. It’s a very academic environment, I suppose, but it feels like a regular workplace to us. We’ve got some good people here who are very dedicated to their research. The trees outside the windows are a nice touch. It’s a bit out of the way for some, but for us, it’s just where we come to work every morning to get things done.
