National Auto Electrical Works

Over in the Peenya Industrial Area, you’ll find National Auto Electrical Works. We are right in the thick of all the other factories and workshops. Our place is mostly focused on the electrical side of trucks and heavy machinery. We spend our days dealing with bundles of wires, alternators, and dead batteries. It's a lot of testing circuits and trying to find where a short might be. The workbench is always covered in wire strippers, electrical tape, and soldering irons. Because we are in the industrial area, we get a lot of big vehicles coming in that have had rough use on the roads. It’s a messy job sometimes, especially when you’re crawling under a dashboard trying to reach a fuse box. We don't have a big sign or a fancy office. Most people find us because they know we’ve been here for years and know how to fix starters that won't turn over. The air is thick with the smell of grease and burnt solder. We have a small crew and we usually just talk about the jobs over a quick lunch in the back. It gets pretty hot under the metal roof, especially in the afternoons, so we drink a lot of water and keep the big floor fans running. We don't do anything corporate here; we just fix the wiring so the drivers can get back to work. It’s honest, steady labor and we don't mind the grease on our clothes.
