You can find us at 3rd Main and 14th Cross here in Bangalore. It’s a busy intersection and there is always something going on outside our doors. Running Name Of The Hotel is a 24-hour job, so there is always someone here, even in the middle of the night. We spend a lot of time checking people in, making sure the rooms are ready, and dealing with the usual plumbing or Wi-Fi issues that pop up. It’s not a five-star luxury resort, just a practical place for people to stay when they are in the city for work or visiting family. The lobby is small and we often have bags piled up near the desk. We know the local rickshaw drivers and the guys at the tea stall nearby. Sometimes the city sounds can be a bit loud, but that’s just Bangalore for you. We don't have a big corporate team; it’s just a handful of us taking turns at the front desk and making sure the laundry gets done. We try to keep things simple. If someone needs an extra towel or a late-night snack, we do what we can. It’s a lot of physical work, walking up and down the stairs and keeping the place tidy. We’ve been at this corner for a while and we see a lot of the same faces coming back. It’s just a regular hotel doing regular things. We just keep the doors open for everyone.
