M.R. Granites

We've been here at M.R. Granites for a good while now. Our spot is right opposite Kumaran in Harapanahalli, which is a busy part of the Jigani Industrial Area. If you know the area, you know there’s always something moving around here. Most days start early with the noise of the yard getting ready. We handle a lot of granite pieces. Some are big, some are small. It’s hard work, dusty too, but that is just how it goes with stone. We’ve seen the industrial area change quite a bit over the years. New buildings go up, old ones get renovated. We mostly just keep our heads down and get the orders ready. People come by looking for something specific for their floors or counters. We show them what’s sitting in the yard at the moment. It’s not a fancy showroom or anything like that. Just the slabs stacked up and the cutting tools nearby. Sometimes it gets loud with the machines running, but you get used to it after a week or two working here. We usually just stick to the basics. If someone needs granite, they find us easily enough because of where we are situated near Kumaran. It is a straightforward business. We don't spend much time on the computer or making things look pretty. The stone does the talking I guess. We close up when the sun goes down or when the last truck leaves the gate. It is what it is.
