Metro Stones

If you go down to 21/1 Jigani near the Koppa Gate, you will find us. We deal with stones, so the yard is always full of slabs of granite and marble. It’s a very dusty environment, and you definitely need good boots to walk around here. Jigani is known for this kind of work, so we are surrounded by other similar businesses. You can hear the sound of saws cutting through stone throughout the day. It’s heavy work. Moving these slabs requires a lot of care and some heavy machinery. We spend most of our time outdoors or in the open shed. The sun can be quite brutal in the middle of the day, but we have a small shaded area where we take our breaks. Trucks come in and out through the Koppa Gate constantly, bringing in raw blocks or taking away finished pieces. We don't have a fancy showroom. What you see is what you get—just rows of stone leaning against each other. Our clothes are always covered in a fine layer of white dust. We’ve been at this location for years and we know the stone business inside out. It’s not a glamorous life, but there is something satisfying about seeing a rough piece of rock turned into something smooth and useful. We just keep at it, day after day, handling the stone and talking to the drivers.
