Mercure Homestead Residences

Our place is on the second floor at No.59/1 in Bangalore and it’s a bit of a climb if you have heavy bags though we help out when we can. Mercure Homestead Residences is where people stay when they are tired of hotels and want a kitchen to cook their own eggs in the morning. The street outside is always noisy with the auto-rickshaws and the construction going on next door. We have some plants in the hallway that we forget to water sometimes but they seem to be holding on. The rooms have big windows but you mostly see the building across the way and some electrical wires. We spend a lot of time doing laundry and folding sheets so they look neat for the next person. It’s a busy part of Karnataka and finding a parking spot is a nightmare most days. Guests come from all over and they usually ask where the best place to get cheap food is. We just tell them to walk down the block to the little stall near the corner. The internet goes down when it rains hard and we have to explain that to everyone who stays here. It is just a regular set of apartments and we try to keep the bathrooms working and the beds made. It’s a lot of walking up and down the stairs for us but it keeps us moving during the day. We like the regulars who stay for months.
