Maruthi Traders

You can find Maruthi Traders at Avenue Road 84. If you know Avenue Road, you know it’s always crowded and noisy, and our shop is right in the middle of all that. We deal in various wholesale items, mostly paper products and basic stationery supplies. The shop is narrow and the shelves go all the way up to the ceiling. We often have to use a ladder just to find what a customer wants. It’s a lot of lifting heavy boxes and counting out items for small retailers who buy from us. We’ve been here for years, and the place hasn't changed much. There’s always a stack of invoices on the counter and the smell of old paper in the air. We don't have much room for people to sit down, as every inch of space is used for storage. It’s a busy environment with people constantly walking past and vehicles trying to squeeze through the narrow street. We just keep our heads down and get the orders filled. It is old-fashioned trading where a handshake and a handwritten bill are the norm. We aren't doing anything modern or high-tech, just moving goods through the city's busiest market. It’s a lot of work but it’s what we do every single day. On rainy days, we have to move all the boxes away from the front so they don't get damp. It’s a lot of shuffling things around. We don't have a computer system for everything.
