Maruthi Marbles & Granites

Out here on Hesaraghatta Road, things stay pretty busy with all the new construction happening nearby in Bagalagunte. We are located at Door No. 25, 26, and 27, which gives us a decent amount of space for all the heavy slabs we keep. At Maruthi Marbles & Granites, the day mostly consists of moving large pieces of stone around with the crane and making sure nothing gets chipped. The dust is everywhere, you can’t really avoid it when you’re dealing with marble and granite all day. We spend a lot of time showing people different patterns in the stone, explaining why one piece of granite has more spots than the other, though mostly it’s just how nature made it. The yard gets quite hot in the sun, especially around T. Dasara Halli when the wind isn't blowing. We have stacks of Kota stone and various marbles lined up against the walls. It’s heavy work and my back usually hurts by the time we close up. The trucks come in early with new loads from the quarries and we have to guide them in carefully so they don't hit the gate. It’s not a quiet job, there’s always the sound of stones clanking or a saw running somewhere in the back. We just keep at it, day after day, helping folks pick out what they need for their floors or counters without any big fuss. That is basically our daily routine here.
