Marudhar Mewa

We are over here at RT Street in Mamulpet, number 56. It is a busy spot. If you know the area, it gets crowded especially in the mornings with all the carts and people moving about. Marudhar Mewa has been sitting in this same place for a while now. We deal with dry fruits and nuts mostly. People come in looking for cashew nuts or almonds and we just weigh them out for them. It is not a fancy place with air conditioning or anything like that. Just bags and boxes everywhere. Sometimes the street gets so loud we can barely hear the customers, but we manage. My uncle started this and now a few of us keep it going day to day. We open up early because that is when the stock arrives. We don’t have a website or anything like that, just the physical shop. You have to walk down the narrow lane to find us. It’s right near the corner. We spend most of the day packing things into smaller bags for people who stop by. The floors are a bit dusty from the sacks of grain and nuts but that is just how it is in this part of town. We don’t really do big advertisements. Most people who come here have been coming for years or their parents did. It is just a regular shop doing what we do every day. Nothing too special about it, just honest work and trying to keep the shelves filled up.
