Our small factory, M I Plast, is located at number 45 on the 4th Cross in Kamakshi Palya. It’s not a very big street, and it can be a bit tricky to find if you aren't looking for it. We mostly work with plastic molding and making different kinds of small parts. The machines we use are quite old, so they make a rhythmic thumping sound that you can hear from the end of the lane. Most of my day is spent making sure the plastic pellets are feeding correctly and the heat is at the right level. It gets pretty warm in here, especially in the summer months. We have bags of raw plastic stacked up against the walls and crates of finished parts ready to go out. It’s a small team, just a few of us who live nearby. We don't have a front office or a receptionist; if you want to talk to us, you just walk through the main door into the workshop. Sometimes we have to stop everything to fix a jammed machine, which is always a bit of a mess. Kamakshi Palya is full of small workshops like ours, so we all kind of know each other. It’s not fancy work, and we aren't trying to be some giant corporation. We just make our parts, pack them up, and get them delivered to whoever ordered them. It’s a simple way to make a living, and it keeps us busy from morning till night.
