Leela Palace Hotel

This place is located on Old Airport Road in Bangalore, though the address usually mentions the Kempinski name. It's a big building, that's for sure. I've been working here for a while, and it's quite a lot to keep track of every day. There are so many rooms and halls that you can almost get lost if you're new to the staff. We spend our shifts making sure everything is where it should be. It’s a lot of walking back and forth. The gardens need a lot of watering, especially when it hasn't rained in a few weeks. We don't really think of it as some grand palace when we're just fixing a lightbulb or moving chairs around for an event. To us, it’s just the job. The traffic outside on the main road is always a bit much, but once you get inside the gates, it quiets down quite a bit. We see a lot of people coming and going from all over. Some are in a hurry, others just want to sit by the water. We just try to keep things tidy and make sure people have what they need. There's always something to do, like polishing the floors or checking the kitchen supplies. It’s a big operation, but we just take it one task at a time. It’s just how we earn our living here in the 560008 area.
