We've been at 54-1 in the Bommasandra Industrial Area for a good while now. It’s a busy spot here, lots of trucks and heavy lifting every single day. If you come by, you’ll see slabs of granite and different kinds of stone just sitting out in the yard. It gets pretty dusty, especially when we’re moving things around with the cranes. Our days usually start early because that’s when the deliveries arrive from the quarries. To be honest, it’s loud work and there is always something being loaded onto a truck. We spend most of our time checking the edges and the finish on the rocks to make sure they aren't cracked or chipped before they go out. It isn't a fancy office or anything like that. Just a big industrial space with plenty of stone piles and people working in boots. Sometimes it feels like we’re just surrounded by grey and beige all day long. We have a small office section where we handle the paperwork and talk to customers who drop in. It’s mostly locals or builders from around this part of Bangalore who know where we are. Dealing with heavy stones is tough on the back, but we’re used to it after all these years. We just keep things moving and try to stay on top of the orders that come through to keep the yard functioning correctly.
