About Kumar Granites – Building & Construction Material in Bengaluru
Our place is at 59 Yelahanka, near the Ahmedabad G P O area. It is a bit of a trek for some, but we have been here for a good while. Dealing with granites means a lot of heavy lifting and keeping an eye on the slabs so they do not crack. It is noisy work. You can hear the sound of the cutters and the moving of stone almost all day long. The yard is usually full of different colors of stone. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. It's just us showing the slabs to whoever walks in. Some days it is really quiet and we just sit around cleaning the dust off the samples. Other days, it’s a total mess with trucks coming in and out. The office is just a small corner with a table and some chairs. We drink a lot of tea to keep going. Sometimes the weather makes it hard to work outside, but the granite doesn't mind the rain. We don't do anything fancy here. We just have the stone, we tell you the price, and that’s it. It’s an honest way to make a living. The stones are heavy, and our backs usually ache by the end of the week. We just keep at it because people always need floors and counters. It is just a regular local business doing its thing in the neighborhood.
