Kumar Granite And Marbles

We've been running Kumar Granite And Marbles from our spot here on 9th Cross in Kumara Park West for a good while now. It’s mostly just us dealing with different slabs of stone every day. People come by looking for something for their kitchen or maybe a bathroom floor, and we show them what's sitting in the yard. It gets dusty, and the work is heavy, but that’s just how the stone business goes. We don't have a fancy showroom with lights and mirrors. It's just a practical space where we keep the inventory. Most of the time, we’re busy helping someone figure out if a particular piece of marble will fit their space or talking about how a granite slab might look once it's actually installed. My family and I handle most of the stuff here. We know the neighborhood well since we’ve been at 25 Kumara Park West for years. You might see us unloading a truck early in the morning or just sweeping up the scrap pieces later in the day. It isn't a glamorous job, but we like working with our hands. We try to keep things straightforward. If someone asks for a specific color, we tell them if we have it or not without making a big deal out of it. It's just a local shop trying to get by and provide what people need for their homes. That's how we've always done it here.
