Our shop is tucked away in Pukraj Layout, specifically at 38/48 to 51. It’s right there on the 4th Cross, between the Mico back gate and the Dairy Circle area on Bannerghatta Road. If you know the traffic in this part of Bangalore, you know it can be a real headache, especially during the morning rush. We try to open up early before the roads get completely blocked. The place is basically a warehouse filled with slabs of marble and crates of tiles. It’s not the cleanest environment because there is always a bit of dust in the air from moving the stones around. My boots are usually white by the end of the day. We have a couple of guys who help with the heavy lifting and loading the trucks. We don’t have a fancy showroom with bright lights. Most of our stock is just stacked up so people can see the real thing. Sometimes a customer comes in and spends hours looking at different patterns. We just let them take their time. We’ve been here for a long time, and the building shows its age a bit. There’s a small desk in the corner where we keep the books and handle the bills. It’s a simple business. We deal with suppliers, check the quality of the stone, and make sure it gets to where it needs to go. It’s hard work on the back, but it’s what we do day in and day out.
