Kalyan Power House

Kalyan Power House has been at 177 Karve Road in Shivaji Nagar for a long time. It’s a bit of a cramped space, honestly. We have parts and equipment stacked up on shelves that go all the way to the ceiling. If you come in looking for something specific, it might take us a minute to find it under all the other stuff. We deal with power equipment and all the little bits that go with it. It’s a lot of metal and wires. The shop gets a bit dusty because of all the inventory sitting there, but we know where everything is, mostly. Working in Shivaji Nagar means there’s always people walking past and asking questions. Sometimes it’s just someone needing a fuse, other times it’s a bigger job. We don’t really do big advertisements. Most people find us because they live nearby or their dad used to come here. Karve Road is always moving, so there's a constant noise from the street outside. We just sit here, fix what needs fixing, and sell the parts people need for their houses or businesses. It’s a living. Some days are slow, and we just sit and drink tea while waiting for a customer. Other days, three people come in at once and it’s a bit of a mess trying to help everyone. We just do what we can with the space we have and try to keep things running for the folks in the neighborhood.
