Jose Jacob & Co.

Jose Jacob & Co. is located at C-2, North Avenue in St. Thomas Town. We are part of the Balaji Layout area, specifically at number 19. It’s a relatively quiet spot compared to the main roads. The office feels a bit like a library sometimes because everyone is focused on their ledgers. We use a lot of paper here. Even though everything is going digital, we still like our physical files. The building is an older style, which means it stays cooler in the summer but the stairs are a bit steep. I’ve lived around here for a long time, so the walk to work is short. We have a small kitchen area where we boil milk for coffee twice a day. The furniture is heavy and dark, the kind that lasts forever. We don't have a receptionist in a suit. Usually, whoever is closest to the door just looks up and says hello. Dealing with accounts and business stuff can be dry, but we find ways to laugh about small things. Sometimes the stray dogs outside make more noise than we do. We aren't looking to change the world or anything. We just provide what our clients need and try to be fair about it. It’s a steady rhythm of work that hasn't changed much over the years. We like it that way. Most days we finish up and lock the gate right on time.
