Rasiya Stones

You can find Rasiya Stones over in Haragadde Village, which is part of the Jigani Hobli area in Anekal Taluk. It’s a bit out of the way compared to the city, but that’s where you have to be for this kind of work. The site is listed as Survey Number 261/3. We have a lot of open space here to store the stones we collect. It’s a quiet village setting for the most part, except for when the heavy machinery is running. We deal with various types of natural stones and spend most of our time out in the yard. The weather affects us quite a bit; when it’s hot, the stone gets warm to the touch, and when it rains, everything gets quite slick. We don’t have a formal reception area or anything like that. Most people who come here are looking for specific types of stone for their landscaping or construction needs. We just show them what’s in the piles and let the material speak for itself. It’s a very practical way of doing business. The drive out to Haragadde can take some time if you aren't familiar with the back roads, but we’ve been here long enough that most local transporters know the way. We just keep our heads down and keep the stone moving from the ground to the trucks. Sometimes we share a tea with the drivers while they wait for their loads to be secured.
