Jayamahal Palace Hotel

Jayamahal Palace Hotel is situated at No. 1 on Jayamahal Road. We are quite close to the Cantonment area here in Bangalore. The property has been around for a very long time and it has a lot of history in its walls. It is a big place with lots of old trees and open space, which is getting harder to find in this city these days. I work on the grounds and in the main building. It is a lot to keep up with, to be honest. There is always a leak to fix or a garden bed that needs weeding. We are not like those new glass and steel hotels you see in the middle of downtown. This place is much older and has its share of creaky floors and old-fashioned bathroom fixtures. We host a lot of weddings and parties in the lawn areas. It gets very chaotic during the wedding season with all the decorations and people running around. The rest of the time, it is actually pretty quiet for being so central. We do not do much fancy advertising. People know us because we have been here forever. The rooms are large but they definitely have that old-style feel to them. We just try to keep things running as smoothly as we can day by day. It is a lot of walking back and forth across the property for the staff. We are just maintaining an old spot. (249 words)
