Jain Marbles

We’ve been running Jain Marbles from the GIDC Industrial Estate in Adugodi for quite some time. The shop is located at 22/A, which is basically near the Mico Back Gate. It is a noisy area with all the industrial stuff going on, but it works for what we do. We have different types of marble and stone slabs stacked up around the place. Most days involve unloading trucks and showing customers the different patterns in the stone. It’s heavy work and our hands stay pretty dusty most of the time. We don’t have a fancy showroom with lights and air conditioning. It’s more of a practical workspace where people come to pick out materials for their floors or counters. The back gate of Mico is a good landmark because people get lost in the industrial estate otherwise. We just do our work, talk to the contractors, and try to make sure the orders go out on the right trucks. Sometimes the weather makes things a bit slow, especially when it rains and we have to cover everything up to keep the stone clean. It’s a straightforward business. We aren't doing anything groundbreaking, just selling marble to folks who need it for their homes or projects. The office is small and usually has some tea cups sitting around on the table. That’s just how it is here in Adugodi.
