Jai Tooling is a small operation over at 137/2 Kamakshi Palya. We’ve been here for a good while, working in this workshop every day except Sundays. It’s a busy neighborhood and our street is always full of people and small vehicles. Inside our shop, it’s mostly just the sound of grinding and the smell of cut metal. We do tooling work, which means a lot of precision even though the place looks a bit rough around the edges. Our workbenches are cluttered with calipers, bits, and half-finished pieces. We don't have a big office or a fancy waiting room. If you come to see us, you’ll probably just stand near the entrance while we finish up whatever we’re doing. It’s just two or three of us working here most days. We learned the trade from our fathers and uncles, so we do things the old way. It’s about being practical and getting the dimensions right. We don’t use any big words or have a website with fancy photos. We just let the work speak for itself. Sometimes a job takes longer than we thought because a machine breaks or the power goes out, but we always stay until it’s done. It’s a simple, honest way to make a living in a part of the city that never seems to slow down. It’s hard work, but we wouldn’t have it any other way.
