Hitech C N C Technologies

Most mornings here in Peenya Industrial Area 8 start with the sound of the heavy shutters rolling up. Hitech C N C Technologies isn't a very large place, but it stays busy from the moment we turn the lights on. The air usually smells like cutting oil and metal dust, which is just how it is in this part of town. We have a few CNC machines lined up and they make a constant humming noise that you eventually stop noticing after a few hours. There is an old wooden desk in the corner where we keep all the drawings and papers, and it’s usually covered in oily thumbprints. The floor is concrete and has some cracks near the back where the heavy equipment sits. During the afternoon heat, the metal roof makes things pretty warm, so we keep the side door open to get a bit of a breeze. Usually, the tea seller comes by around four and we take ten minutes to stand out on the street. It’s a lot of repetitive work, watching the machines move back and forth, but someone has to stay on top of it to make sure nothing jams. We’ve been at this address for a while now and the neighbors know us. It’s just a regular workshop where we spend most of our daylight hours getting through the pile of work on the floor. It is definitely not a quiet job, but it’s what we do.
