If you head down to Bamboo Bazar in Moti Nagar, you will find us at Shop Number 29 on G.C. Street. It’s a crowded area, and the streets are narrow, so it’s always a bit of a squeeze getting through. J Lal & Sons has been in the family for a long time. My grandfather started out here, and we just kept it going. The shop has that old smell of wood and dust, which I’ve grown to like over the years. We have stuff stacked up high, almost reaching the ceiling in some corners. It might look like a mess to someone from the outside, but we have a system for everything. Bamboo Bazar is a lively place to work because there is always some shouting or some cart being pushed past. We spend a lot of time talking to the other shopkeepers nearby. We don’t use any fancy marketing or have big signs. Most people just know we are at number 29. It’s hard work, especially when it’s hot outside and there’s no breeze in the narrow street. We just keep our heads down and do what we need to do. We aren't trying to grow into a massive company. We just want to keep the shop running well so we can provide for our families. It’s a practical life, and we are happy with it here in Moti Nagar for now and the future.
