Intercontinental Hotels,The Grand Ashok

Our office is over on 1st Main Road in Nehru Nagar, which is a pretty quiet part of Bangalore compared to the main roads. We deal with the hotel side of things from here, mostly paperwork and making sure the guest stuff is sorted out. Mr. Guru Datt has his space here too at number 27. It is an old building with a lot of character, and we’ve been in this 560020 area for a long time. People think working for a big name means everything is shiny, but here at the office, it’s just us at our desks with piles of files and a lot of phone calls to answer. We see a lot of people coming in for meetings or just to drop off documents. The street outside gets a bit crowded during the school run times, but otherwise, it's a nice place to work. We don't have a big lobby or anything like the hotel itself, just a functional space where the real work happens behind the scenes. We drink a lot of tea and try to stay on top of the bookings and the maintenance schedules. It’s a lot of coordination between different departments. Sometimes the internet goes slow when it rains, but we manage. We aren't here to impress anyone with the decor, we just want to make sure the guests at the Grand Ashok are taken care of from this end. It is a lot of spreadsheets and emails, but it is what keeps the place running. We are just a small team in a big city doing our part.
