Indian Mobile Currency Center

At Kengeri 2, you will see Indian Mobile Currency Center right on the corner. The name makes it sound big, but it’s actually a modest place. We handle a lot of different things here. Most people come in to send money to their families in other states or to pay their electricity and water bills. We have a couple of computers on a wooden counter that’s seen a lot of use. The keyboard keys are a bit worn out from all the typing. We also sell some basic mobile phones and a lot of recharge scratch cards, though most people do it digitally now. The walls are covered with notices and charts about exchange rates and service fees. It’s a bit of a social hub too, as neighbors often stop by just to say hello or ask for the news. The floor is simple cement, and we have a couple of plastic stools for people waiting their turn. It can get a bit chaotic when the internet goes slow and we have a line of people waiting. We use a small notebook to keep track of the daily cash flow because the software sometimes glitches. There’s a small temple shelf in the corner where we light incense every morning. It’s a regular neighborhood shop where we deal with the daily needs of the people living around Kengeri. We usually stay open late to help the workers who come home after the sun sets.
