Ida Interior Design Academy

We are located at No 22/2 on the first floor of the Sri Guru Building. It’s on BEML Main Road, right across from the Post Office and next to the Canara Bank in New Thippasandra. This is where we spend our days teaching and working on design ideas. It’s a busy area and the stairs up to the first floor get a lot of use from students and visitors. We have a few classrooms that are usually full of drawings and scale models. It’s not a quiet place because there is always a discussion happening about colors or floor plans. We keep a lot of reference books and old design magazines on the shelves for everyone to use. The windows look out over the main road, so we hear the buses and the bikes all day long. It feels very connected to the city. We don't have a big corporate office feel here; it’s more like a workshop where people are learning by doing. The desks are often messy with pencils and rulers. Sometimes we have tea breaks downstairs near the post office. It’s a very practical environment. We don't use a lot of fancy terminology, we just focus on the basics of how to put a room together. Most of our furniture is stuff we picked out because it was sturdy and could handle a lot of use. It’s a functional space for people who really want to learn design.
