Hotel Sri Akshatha

We are located at 905/A on 5th Main in Vijaya Nagar. This is a small hotel, which in our area just means a place to get a good meal. We mostly do South Indian breakfast and lunch. The place opens up quite early because people around here need their coffee and idli before they go to their jobs. It’s a very simple setup with a few tables and benches. If it gets crowded, you’ll probably end up sitting with someone you don't know, but nobody seems to mind that. The kitchen is right in the back and you can hear the sound of the dosa tawa being scraped all morning long. We don't use any complicated recipes, just the ones we’ve used for years. Sometimes the sambar is a bit spicier than other days, it just depends on the batch of chilies we got from the market. We don't have any air conditioning, just some old fans that keep the air moving. It can get pretty warm when the afternoon sun hits the front of the shop. My family runs the place together. We don't have any fancy waiters, just a couple of boys who help us serve and clean the tables. We don't do any home delivery or online orders. If you want to eat our food, you have to come down to 5th Main and find us. It’s just a plain, honest food joint for the local residents.
