Hotel Savajis

Our restaurant is located in Vijaya Nagar at S M M S Market, S V Lane 1174. It is tucked away in a bit of a narrow lane, so you have to look for the sign. The market nearby is always loud with people buying and selling things, and that energy carries over into our place. We have wooden tables that are a bit heavy and chairs that don't always match. The kitchen is at the back and the smell of spices is very strong throughout the whole building. We serve a lot of traditional dishes that take a long time to cook. The walls are painted a simple cream color and have a few calendars hanging on them. We don't have air conditioning, just some ceiling fans that spin fast to keep the air moving. It can get a bit smoky when the stove is going full blast. We use metal plates and small bowls for the different curries. Most of our customers are regulars who have been coming to S V Lane for years. They know exactly what they want before they even sit down. We keep a large jar of water on each table with some glasses. It is a busy, no-nonsense kind of place where the focus is just on the food and getting people fed. We close up once the market starts to quiet down in the evening. There is a small counter at the front where we handle the cash and hand out the bills. We often run out of napkins by noon.
