Hotel Sabarwal

Hotel Sabarwal is located at 45/1 in Wilson Garden, right in the Pragatinagar area. It's a busy part of town. We’ve got rooms and a place to eat. It isn't a luxury hotel with carpets or anything like that. The floors are tiled and easy to mop, which we do twice a day. The building is a bit older, so the pipes sometimes make noise at night. We try to keep things running smooth, but things break down sometimes. My uncle handles the front desk and I handle the kitchen and the cleaning. It’s a lot of work for just a few of us. We have regulars who stay here when they are in town for business. They don't expect much, just a clean bed and some food. The street outside can be quite loud with the traffic, especially in the evenings. We keep the curtains closed to block out the streetlights. Sometimes the laundry takes longer than expected to dry during the monsoon season. We end up hanging sheets everywhere we can find space. It’s a bit of a mess then. We don't have a fancy lobby or a bellhop. You just walk in and talk to us. It’s a honest way to make a living. We’ve been here at 45/1 for a long time and we know the neighborhood well. It’s just a plain place to stay where we try to keep things as decent as possible for our guests.
