Hotel Krishna Darshini

Hotel Krishna Darshini is right in the heart of Chamrajpet. It’s a busy place, especially in the mornings when everyone is rushing to get to work. We open up early to start the coffee filters and get the batter ready. There is always the sound of steel spoons hitting plates and the steam hissing from the idli cookers. We don’t have fancy menus or waiters in uniforms. You just come in, get your token, and find a spot to stand or sit. It’s loud and it’s crowded, but that’s how a darshini is supposed to be. We spend a lot of time cleaning the tables because people are constantly coming and going. The floor is usually wet from someone mopping it between the rushes. We use a lot of fresh ingredients every day. We don’t like keeping things overnight. By the afternoon, the crowd thins out a bit and we can finally take a breath. Chamrajpet is an old area with a lot of history, and we feel like we’ve become a small part of the daily routine for the people living here. We don't do home delivery or anything like that. If you want a meal, you have to walk over and see us in person. We’ve got a few fans humming on the ceiling to keep the air moving. It’s a simple operation, really. Just food served quickly so people can get on with their day and their work without having to wait.
